ReadyHelm Text Message Notifications

Last updated: November 1, 2026

ReadyHelm LLC sends text messages to boat owners who use the ReadyHelm app and ask for them. This page explains who gets our texts, how you agree to them, what we send, and how to stop.

Who gets texts

Only registered ReadyHelm users on the Skipper or Captain plan who turn text notifications on and agree to them. We never text a number someone else gave us, and we don't send marketing or promotional texts.

How you opt in

  1. Sign in to the ReadyHelm app at app.readyhelm.com and open My Account → Notifications.
  2. Under "How would you like to receive ReadyHelm notifications?", choose Text message or Email + text.
  3. Enter your mobile number and tap Text me a code. Type in the 6-digit code we text you to confirm the number is yours.
  4. Tick the box agreeing to texts (it starts unticked) and save. The box reads:
I agree to get text messages from ReadyHelm about my boats (reminders and messages) at this number. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Consent isn't a condition of using ReadyHelm.

We send notification texts only after the box is ticked and saved, and we record when you agreed, the number, and the wording you agreed to. Agreeing isn't required to use ReadyHelm; you can keep getting notifications by email instead.

The Notifications settings in the ReadyHelm app: the Text message choice selected, a confirmed mobile number, and the unticked consent box with the wording above.
The opt-in in the ReadyHelm app (My Account → Notifications).

What we send

  • Reminder digests for your boats: upcoming or overdue registration, insurance, equipment replacements and to-dos (daily, or a weekly summary in Simple mode).
  • A note when your boatyard or marine service provider sends you a message in ReadyHelm or updates your boat's records, and a summary of unread messages.
  • One-time codes to confirm your mobile number, when you ask for one.

Example: ReadyHelm: 2 reminders for Sea Breeze. Next: Engine - Oil change, due in 3d. Details: https://app.readyhelm.com

How often

Message frequency varies with your boats' reminders and messages; reminder digests come at most once a day. Texts are sent only between 8 am and 9 pm in your time zone. Each plan includes a monthly allowance of notification texts (Skipper 100, Captain 300); past it, notifications come by email until the next month.

Cost

ReadyHelm doesn't charge for the texts included with your plan. Message and data rates from your mobile carrier may apply.

How to stop, and how to get help

  • Reply STOP to any text to opt out. We'll confirm once and send no more texts. Reply START to turn them back on.
  • Or switch notifications back to email in My Account → Notifications at any time.
  • Reply HELP for help, or email [email protected].

Our notification number doesn't take other replies; to answer a message, open the ReadyHelm app.

Your mobile number and privacy

We use your mobile number only to send the texts described here. We don't sell, rent or share mobile numbers or text-message consent with third parties for their marketing. We share them only with our texting provider, Twilio, to deliver the messages. See our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.

Carriers

Mobile carriers aren't liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
