ReadyHelm Terms of Use

1. The Service
ReadyHelm is an actively developed service — features may change over time, and maintenance records, checklists, alerts, and AI-generated suggestions may occasionally be incomplete, delayed, or inaccurate.
2. Acceptance of These Terms
By creating a ReadyHelm account or using the ReadyHelm service (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Use, our Privacy Policy, and the AI & Safety Disclosure. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to create an account. You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your login credentials secure.
4. Your Content
You retain ownership of the vessel information, maintenance records, photos, documents, and other content you add to ReadyHelm ("Your Content"). You grant ReadyHelm a limited license to store, process, and display Your Content solely to provide and improve the Service. You're responsible for having the rights to anything you upload.
5. Acceptable Use
Don't use the Service to violate any law, infringe anyone's rights, upload malicious code, or attempt to access accounts or data that aren't yours. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
6. No Professional Advice
ReadyHelm helps you track maintenance — it does not replace a certified marine surveyor, a licensed technician, your vessel's manufacturer documentation, or U.S. Coast Guard requirements. See the AI & Safety Disclosure for more on this, especially around AI-generated content.
7. Fees
ReadyHelm offers a free plan and paid subscription plans (Skipper and Captain), described in My Account. Paid subscriptions are billed in advance, monthly or annually, through our payment processor, Stripe, and renew automatically until canceled. You can view current pricing, change your plan, or cancel anytime from My Account, which opens Stripe's secure Customer Portal for billing changes. If we change pricing for your plan, we'll give you notice before it takes effect on your account.
8. Termination
You can stop using ReadyHelm and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or misuse the Service, and may discontinue the Service, in whole or in part, at any time.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. DATA LOSS, DOWNTIME, AND BUGS ARE POSSIBLE.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, READYHELM WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, REVENUE, OR PROPERTY, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE — INCLUDING ANY DECISION MADE OR SAFETY ISSUE ARISING FROM RELIANCE ON MAINTENANCE RECORDS OR AI-GENERATED SUGGESTIONS IN THE SERVICE.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. If we make a material change, you'll be asked to review and accept the updated Terms the next time you sign in before you can continue using ReadyHelm.
